Biodiesel Production in Estonia

Besides all environmental arguments for a change to renewable energies it is no more a secret that the demand for mineral oil is increasing while there are not enough new oil fields which can be explored at a reasonable price level. Together with the unstable situation in the Middle East this leaded to increasing prices for mineral oil and its products especially in the past two years and will go on in the future.

In front of this background Intercon Energy decided to establish a new business area focusing on the production of Biodiesel.

The production will be located in the Eastern part of Estonia beneath an already existing fuel storage and railway station, where imported rape seed oil from Eastern Europe will be stored.

The Biodiesel plant itself is container-based and has a production capacity of 20.000 tons per year. The produced Biodiesel will be sold to bulk purchasers in the Baltic region.

Investment Opportunity

As we are totally convinced about the Biodiesel project and the necessary investment costs are manageable (in contrast to our former wind farm projects), we decided to operate the company on ourselves.

But we like to share both risks and opportunities with a selected group of people, which we call our “Family & Friends”- program.
